Peninsular Youth Ministries
Taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Young People of Tendring

Support for Peninsular Youth Ministries

Peninsular Youth Ministries (PYMs) is part of NTCI (North Tendring Christian Initiatives) - an interdenominational trust set up to undertake Christian youth work in the local schools and area on behalf of the Christian Churches in the area.

The work has three main objectives:

1) To take the Gospel of Christ to young people in the senior schools in Harwich and Manningtree

2) To help the churches to start and to develop their youth work, in partnership when necessary to combine their resources

3) To run Christian youth activities - such as Youth Cafe Drop-Ins (The Hub), summer camps, school transition events, Holiday Bible Clubs and more.

In the schools the team of youth workers are involved with RE lessons, assemblies, school councils, mentoring and detached work. Their aim to present the Christian faith in a way that young people can grasp and understand. They also seek to encourage and assist those in the churches who have a concern for young people and who have a desire and heart to be involved in youth work. They aim to develop a range of events to draw the churches and the youth communities together.

The youth workers also help to run the youth drop in in Manningtree: The Hub.

This provides a safe and warm place for young people to meet after school and in the evenings.
